How to Prepare and What to Expect After
Following these guidelines will help you achieve the best possible outcome and minimise any potential side effects.
- Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen for at least 24 hours before your appointment. If you have a cardiovascular history, consult your doctor before adjusting any medications.
- Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment to keep your skin well hydrated.
- Limit sun exposure and avoid tanning beds for at least one week before treatment. Apply a daily broad-spectrum sunscreen.
- Avoid retinol, exfoliants, and harsh active skincare products on the face for 48 hours prior to treatment.
- Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, lotions, and oils.
- Let your clinician know about any medications you are taking and any relevant medical history, including previous facial treatments.
- Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours to allow the product to settle correctly.
- Stay upright and avoid lying down or bending over for at least 4 hours following treatment.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and hot environments for 24 hours post-treatment to reduce swelling and bruising risk.
- Do not apply makeup to the treated area for at least 24 hours.
- Continue drinking plenty of water to support healing and skin hydration.
- Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning products for 24 hours post-treatment.
- Apply sunscreen daily and limit direct sun exposure to protect your skin and support lasting results.
- Schedule a follow-up appointment with your medical team to assess results and discuss any additional treatments if necessary.
